ReplyDeleteFrom my personal experience I have to note that some Noise Reduction tools work different depends on the image size and quality. If you work with the cropped image then you need a tool that very well controls noise reduction, very gradually, not for example like ONE STEP noise removal. LR3 is a very good example of a good noise removal tool. If you need to be even more corrective precise I would recommend also Nik Software Define tool, that can correct only parts of the image or Nik Viveza 2 tool that illuminates selectively structured areas of image. Before you go to noise reduction pick the best sharpening tool. Different sharpening tools apply sharpening with different type of grain. Some grain is a challenge to get of the image once applied, so be very careful. Usually application that applied grain is the one that successfully able to remove it. Using several editing packages probably the worst scenario that can be done to the image. Same think applies to Colour Noise. If you removing noise produced by high ISO use same software that fixes Grain nose and colour noise at the same time.
This is Viveza 1 Job, noise was selectively removed from the background where the front/centre of the shot remains untouched.
